Born in 1936 - I am a 70 year old, married, retired, Grandfather with four adult children, seven grand children and a 5 year old great grandson.
November - 1965 my wife Margaret and I immigrated to Australia from England, via the £10 assisted passage scheme, where we lived until 1974.
During our time in Australia I was employed as a production manager in the "Direct Mail Advertising" industry. I enjoyed collating, enveloping and shipping mail to every state within Australia.
We purchased and lived in, three new homes, within twenty miles of Sydney city centre and believed Australia was to be our home for the rest of our life.
However, it was not to be because our family in England needed our support so we sold our home and returned to the UK in 1974.
October 2006 Margaret and I visited Sydney, for a 30 day holiday. Our trip to Australia was enjoyable but is was great to get back home.
Britain is our place of birth. Margaret and I have settled down in the small market town of Alcester, situated in the county of Warwickshire.
